DST’s NECTAR Launches New Drone

The North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR), an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has unveiled an innovative aerostatic drone designed to enhance aerial surveillance and disaster management operations.

Equipped with high-resolution sensors and real-time communication capabilities, the drone is engineered for efficient deployment during natural disasters, search-and-rescue missions, and border monitoring. The technology aims to offer a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to conventional aerial surveillance methods.

This advancement underscores DST’s continued efforts to leverage indigenous technology for national security and disaster resilience, with a focus on scalable and region-specific solutions.
