BHASHINI, CRIS Pact to Boost AI for Railways

In a significant stride towards enhancing accessibility and digital inclusion, the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD), operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). This collaboration aims to develop and deploy next-generation multilingual AI solutions across key public-facing platforms of Indian Railways.

This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to overcome communication barriers and enhance operational efficiency within the railway network. By focusing on next-generation AI technologies, the MoU paves the way for innovative applications capable of processing and understanding diverse linguistic inputs. The expected outcome includes improved accessibility of railway services for a wider segment of the Indian population, streamlined information dissemination, and enhanced data-driven decision-making processes. This initiative underscores the commitment to integrate indigenous language technologies into critical infrastructure, thereby promoting inclusivity and technological advancement within the Indian Railways sector.
