Gyaneshwar Singh Takes Over as IICA Chief


Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, an accomplished officer of the Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TAFS) from the 1992 batch, has been serving as the Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). In this capacity, he also holds the position of CEO of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) and serves as a Government Nominee on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) .

  

With over three decades of experience in finance, law, and governance, Shri Singh has held various significant roles within the Government of India and international organizations. Notably, he served as the Controller of Communications Accounts for the Delhi Region under the Ministry of Communication and IT and contributed to the formulation of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, during his tenure as Director in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Additionally, from 2007 to 2012, he worked as the International Capacity Development Advisor to UNDP Afghanistan .

 

Academically, Shri Singh holds a postgraduate degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, along with MBA and LLB degrees from Delhi University .

 

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), established in 2008 under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, functions as a think tank and capacity-building institution. It focuses on various domains such as corporate law, governance, insolvency and bankruptcy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, and more .

  

Under Shri Singh’s leadership, IICA is poised to further its mission of enhancing corporate governance standards and fostering sustainable business practices in India.
