Jammu & Kashmir’s Premium Cherries and Plums Reach Singapore in First Export

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the first export of premium Areko cherries and Scentrose plums from Jammu & Kashmir to Singapore, marking a significant step towards expanding international markets for the Union Territory’s high-value horticultural produce.

The export highlights the quality and global demand for Jammu & Kashmir’s premium fruits while strengthening the region’s connection with international markets. The initiative is expected to encourage greater participation of local farmers and producers in export-oriented horticulture, enhance value realization and promote the rich agricultural potential of the Union Territory.

The move also reflects ongoing efforts to diversify India’s agricultural export basket and create new opportunities for horticulture products from different regions. With improved market access and export facilitation, premium fruits from Jammu & Kashmir are gaining greater visibility among international consumers, further strengthening India’s position in the global fresh produce market.
