The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the maiden flight-test of the indigenous ‘Kusha’ Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LR-SAM), marking a significant milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen its air-defence capabilities.
The flight-test demonstrated the missile system’s ability to engage and intercept aerial threats, showcasing the country’s growing indigenous capabilities in advanced missile and air-defence technologies. The successful trial is expected to further boost India’s preparedness against evolving aerial threats and strengthen the technological foundation of its layered air-defence network.
The development and testing of the ‘Kusha’ LR-SAM reflect the government’s continued focus on Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence and the increasing role of indigenous research and development in meeting the operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.
